Rain May Have Caused Roof Collapse In North San Jose
Fire crews responded to a report of a fire alarm activated in the 2100 block of Ringwood Avenue shortly after 8:30 a.m.

SAN JOSE - Firefighters responding to an alarm found a roof partially collapsed at a business in North San Jose Monday morning, a fire spokesman said.
Crews responded to a report of a fire alarm activated in the 2100 block of Ringwood Avenue shortly after 8:30 a.m., San Jose Fire Capt. Christopher Salcido said.
When firefighters arrived, they found no signs of a fire, but learned the building's water flow alarm had turned on because of a partial roof collapse that broke piping in the structure.

Firefighters found no one was inside or trapped in the building, according to Salcido. No injuries were reported.

The water system was shut down and it is probable the collapse was weather-related, according to Salcido.
The one-story structure is a mixed-use building with a warehouse and office space.
Crews are working to make sure paint found in the building doesn't come into contact with water and runoff into storm drains, he said.
