Levi's Stadium Fight Leads To Arrest
The Madera man is accused of felony assault and battery charges while the victim remains in critical condition.

SANTA CLARA, CA -- In a San Francisco Bay Area incident that almost wreaks of the Giants fan Bryan Stow attack at Dodger Stadium seven years ago, David Aguilera Gonzalez of Madera, 34, was arrested on felony assault charges for severely injuring another man at Levi's Stadium after the Oct. 7 game between the 49ers and the Arizona Cardinals, Santa Clara police announced Wednesday.
Gonzalez punched the 34-year-old victim who remains critically injured in the hospital after the victim kicked a bottle in the vicinity of the suspect while the two men walked out of the stadium with friends, Santa Clara police said. The victim fell to the ground, slowly stood up and walked away, police said. The suspect apparently punched the man a second time and fled, and the incident became a medical situation.
Stadium police responded to the call, and the victim was taken to the hospital. His condition worsened, and police made the incident a priority, Capt. Wahid Kazem indicated. He characterized the encounter between the two men a one-way fight. The arrest of Gonzalez was made Tuesday.

"Unfortunately for everyone, the injuries were not as known until much later. When we realized the severity of the injuries, we made an all-out effort," Kazem told Patch.
The captain said his officers have responded to a few incidents since Levi's Stadium was built in 2014. One in particular involved a bathroom assault from a few years ago.

Various layers of security exist at Levi's Stadium, which provided a limited response at press time to whether new, increased measures of security would take place given the incident. Stadium security is working in coordination with the investigation.
Giants fan Stow was beaten up nearly to death outside Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles. Two men were sentenced by an angry judge who called them "the biggest nightmare for people who attend public events," the Associated Press reported in 2014.
