San Jose Man Accused Of Starting Fire At Milpitas Bank
Police arrested a man Monday on suspicion of starting a fire in front of a bank on East Calaveras Boulevard.

MILPITAS, CA — Police in Milpitas arrested a man on Monday suspected of starting a fire in front of a local bank.
On Friday, police said a man placed and incendiary device near the front doors of a bank in the 740 block of East Calaveras Boulevard around 2:42 p.m.
After placing the device on the ground and lighting it on fire, the suspect fled in a newer model Honda Accord, police said.

The device was extinguished and no one was injured, nor was any property damaged.
On Monday, Milpitas police arrested Luis Atangan, 41, of San Jose, on suspicion of attempted arson and possession of an incendiary device. Police said Atangan is an "arson registrant."
