Sinkhole Closes Montague Expressway Lane Into Next Week
Although one westbound lane is open, the other could close if the sinkhole becomes larger with looming rain forecasted into the weekend.
MILPITAS, CA -- A giant sinkhole has closed the westbound lane on the Montague Expressway, Santa Clara County announced Friday evening.
One westbound lane on the busy connecting thoroughfare between Trade Zone Boulevard and the railroad tracks is open, but that could soon change if the sinkhole grows larger, public works officials warn.
Traffic using westbound Montague should consider alternate routes to avoid this area.

The closure of at least one lane is expected to remain through the weekend and into next week until all repairs are finished.
