'Suspicious' Vehicle Flees, Hitting Squad Car: Milpitas Police
The drivers of the vehicles parked at a Hillview Dr. house appeared startled and quickly fled the scene when officers arrived, police said.
MILPITAS, CA -- In a dramatic departure, two vehicles parked at a home in the 900 block of North Hillview Drive in Milpitas and reported by a neighbor as suspicious suddenly fled the scene when police arrived Saturday night.
One of the vehicles hit a police squad car upon fleeing the scene.
The Milpitas police squad car may have startled the drivers of the white sports utility vehicle and red sedan. When officers arrived, both vehicles attempted to leave the driveway at a high rate of speed. The driver of the red sedan struck a parked vehicle and the marked police vehicle that was occupied by a police officer.

The officer was not injured.
A police pursuit was initiated in an attempt to apprehend the suspect driving the red sedan, but was eventually terminated due to overall concerns regarding public safety. The sports utility vehicle also fled the area but was not located.
