Traffic Advisory As 49ers Meet Raiders At Levi's Stadium Thursday

The San Francisco 49ers will host the Oakland Raiders for Thursday night football in a battle of the bay contest sure to bring traffic jams.

SANTA CLARA, CA -- With about 68,500 expected to attend the Santa Clara Police Department is cautioning motorists traveling around Levi's Stadium on Marie P DeBartolo Way to pack your patience. In a battle of the bay, the San Francisco 49ers will host Thursday night the Oakland Raiders.

The game starts at 5:20 p.m.

Heavy traffic and delays are expected on major thoroughfares leading to and from the stadium. These include Highways 101 and 237 as well as Interstate 880, the Lawrence and San Tomas expressways, along with the Great American Parkway.

Traffic is anticipated to get heavy starting at 1:30 p.m. and continue into the evening long after the whistle blows.

Tasman Drive will be closed from Convention Center Drive to Centennial-Marie P. DeBartolo Way on Thursday starting at 9:30 a.m. and will remained closed into the night. Stadium goers are encouraged to take public transportation such as CalTrain, light rail or bus lines through the Valley Transportation Authority. If driving, parking lots will be open at 1:50 p.m. Stadium gates will open at 3:20 p.m. Parking passes may be purchased at www.levisstadium.com.
