Babies R Us beware: Reviewers agree Buy Buy Baby provides tough competition.

Mission Viejo's newest big box retailer is beginning to face the criticisms of Yelp's legion of reviewers. Since Buybuy Baby opened in late February, it has gathered six reviews on Yelp.com.

So far it has racked up:

  • 1 5-star rating
  • 3 4-star ratings
  • 1 3-star rating
  • 1 1-star rating
The two lowest reviews and the highest review are hidden from the site. The lowest two violated Yelp's terms of service, the site says, and cannot be read.

Here's a summary from the visible reviews:

Fifi L. (Laguna Niguel): "The selection is awesome. This store kicks the (censored) of Babies R not Us. Prices are average to slightly higher on some items."

Nick T. (Glendale): "This place can best be summarized as an upgraded Babys R US. The place carries ... entry level brands to the very high end. Unlike Babys R US, there were plenty of sales associates around to help."

Eduardo G. (Irvine): "Staff is very helpful."

Rebekah T. (Orange): " If you have any questions about products they carry the staff is more than happy to let you test drive it or take it out of the box."
