Adoptable Pup Left with Shattered Bones Now Shattering Expectations
This dachshund mix needs someone to help him heal emotionally following a bad accident.

He's had it rough.
Dachshund mix Poncho, 2, was left for weeks after being hit by a car, a crash that shattered his femur, his pelvis and all the toes of his right foot, said city spokeswoman Kelly Tokarski.
The volunteers of the Dedicated Animal Welfare Group paid for a specialty surgeon to fix him up, which left Poncho in a cast for weeks.

Here's more from Tokarski:
Although the healing process was long, Poncho has made an amazing recovery and can walk, run, and play like other dogs.

However, being injured so badly has taken its toll on Poncho, as he can be hesitant to trust. He has physically healed, but he now needs a dedicated individual or couple who can help him heal emotionally.
Once he trusts someone, he loves them unconditionally and is as happy as can be to sit with them and give kisses.
