City to Consider $2 Million to Widen Oso Parkway
The money would be spent to buy out private owners along the busy arterial road.

The Mission Viejo City Council will vote Monday on whether to spend $1,950,000 to start the process of widening Oso Parkway from six to eight lanes from the I-5 east to Country Club Drive.
The nearly $2 million would not pay for the construction of the road. It would be used to buy private property along the road to be used for the widening.
Reasons for the widening listed in the staff resolution include staving off "blight," as well as allowing access to three sites for potential affordable-housing construction.
