Closures On 5 Freeway Starting Friday Night In Mission Viejo
As a part of the county's Interstate 5 improvements project, residents can expect nighttime closures on the freeway near La Paz Road.
MISSION VIEJO, CA — Drivers commuting on the Interstate 5 freeway can expect detours while passing through Mission Viejo as the Interstate 5 widening project continues Friday, the Orange County Transportation Authority said.
Closures will be put in place on the freeway near La Paz Road throughout the weekend. The construction will occur between 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., and residents can expect northbound freeway lane reductions and loud noises from "demolition activities."
According to OCTA, crews will be destroying the freeway's center span of La Paz Road bridge. Work is expected to wrap up on Sunday by 8 a.m.
