Full 5 Freeway Closures In Mission Viejo: Detours, What To Know
As the Interstate 5 widening project continues, Caltrans announced upcoming freeway closures in the Orange County area.
MISSION VIEJO, CA — South Orange County commuters, be advised: more construction work is underway on the Interstate 5 as a part of Caltrans's freeway expansion project, Caltrans announced Monday.
The freeway will be closed in both directions Monday and Tuesday night as a part of the expansion project, Caltrans announced Wednesday.
The full closures impact the stretch of freeway between Alicia Parkway and El Toro Road, Caltrans said. The full closures take place from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., with lane restrictions beginning as early as 8 p.m. on both nights.

Crews plan to relocate utility lines during the construction hours, Caltrans said.
