Hail or Snow in Mission Viejo? Send in Your Photos
One family made the most of the surprise hailstorm Friday night. What did you do?
The strange, cold weather Friday night--was it hail, or was it snow? Our readers have sent convincing photos of both.
Reader Tom Sheltraw, also known as DrDad4Life on Twitter, spotted a family fun opportunity last night when the hail began to fall.
As you can see from the photo, he and his sons Timmy, 10, and Toby, 6, put together a snowman--or is that a hailman? The photo was taken in front of their home on Amable, which is near the La Paz/Olympiad intersection.

Their snowman has it all--carrot nose, boxing glove hands and a laniard around its neck--is that to hold the keys to his snow castle?
"Last month I made up a list of 52 fun things I wanted to do this year with my boys," Tom said. "One of them just happened to be 'build a snowman.' I never expected we would build one in our front yard."

And he said their snowman project ended like all winter projects should--with a snowball fight.
Reader Jon Keim spotted several hail-covered items and areas at the Norman P. Murray Community Center this morning around 7:30.
"Who says it doesn't snow in Mission Viejo?" Keim said. "Okay, so maybe it's heavy hail, but it still looked awesome!"
Reader Jessica Hansen was pretty sure it was snow that fell on her car near the Oso/Felipe intersection. She sent in the photo to prove it, too.
