Discover Starfish Asian Fusion in South Laguna Beach, a hidden gem nestled in a charming strip mall across from the luxurious Montage Resort. When I first introduced my out-of-town friends to this spot, they playfully teased me about dining in a strip mall—but don’t be fooled by appearances! Parking is easy and convenient.
One of my personal favorites is their Opium Hour, which runs daily from 3 PM to 6 PM. During this time, you can indulge in fantastic drink specials priced at $5, $8, $9, and $12, while the food specials range from $11 to $17. The freshness of the cuisine is remarkable, and the service is nothing short of impeccable. Plus, the ambiance is inviting, making it perfect for a leisurely outing.

Opium Hour is available throughout the entire restaurant, so you can enjoy the experience wherever you choose to sit. My go-to drink specials are the Enlightenment and the Starfish Cooler. I prefer drinks that aren’t overly sweet, and the bartender is always happy to adjust the sweetness to my liking.
As for food, I can’t recommend the incredibly delicious crispy chicken egg rolls —they are simply delightful! While I don’t eat seafood myself, my friends rave about the seafood dishes they order, which always receive high praise.
