Letter: 7-Eleven Will Bring Traffic, Crime
Will a new 7-Eleven reduce the values of homes near Marguerite and Trabuco? One reader says it will.

The following is a letter from resident Gina Ross opposing a proposed 7-Eleven convenience store at Marguerite and Trabuco on the site of what is now a 76 gas station:
Many of our neighbors will be attending the City Council meeting changed to Aug. 20 to oppose their decision. This 7-Eleven will likely decrease our property value, being open 24/7.
It will increase noise with deliveries at all hours, traffic, bright lights, crime, etc. It will also likely put a small business owner's liquor store out of business in the same plaza.

This decision, I feel, was deceptively made. The letter our community received did not speak of the impact a large store would have on our community. There is a 7-Eleven approximately one mile away on Los Aliso and Trabuco already.
Crime reports are available with the problems this store causes. The signage has been placed nicely at the 76 gas station for over four months, so many of my neighbors felt it was already done and was in the existing building—NOT a newly-built, 24-hour store!
