Male and Female Veteran of the Year To Be Honored
The two will be recognized at the city's annual Veterans Day Ceremony.

Mission Viejo will recognize a male and female Veteran of the Year during its annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m.
The male Veteran of the Year, Mike Waugh, is a California resident who was drafted in 1967. He served in Vietnam, before moving to Mission Viejo and becoming active in many volunteer organizations concerning veterans.
Septene McKinney, the female Veteran of the Year, joined the Air Force in 1973. She worked on jets and served as military honor guard at funerals, and was honorably discharged 8 years later. She also earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration during her military career.

The two honorees were selected from a pool of other qualified veterans, and will be recognized alongside other former military officers. The ceremony will be held at the Norman P. Murrary Community and Senior Center, located at 24932 Veterans Way.
