Lt. Kenneth Binning, a 22-year Orange County Sheriff’s Department veteran, is Mission Viejo’s new Chief of Police Services. He began his new post today, taking the reins from Lt. Brad NewMyer, who retired this week.

Lt. Binning, who last worked at the James A. Musick Facility, steps into the position with a wealth of law enforcement experience and familiarity with this City – which is continually ranked as one the safest in California. He spent eight years in Mission Viejo as a sergeant and traffic enforcement deputy. Lt. Binning’s roots in this community run deep on a personal level, too. His kids were born and raised here and he has called Mission Viejo home for more than two decades.
