Music, Activities Planned for 'Symphony in the Cities'

Symphony in the Cities takes place Saturday, July 30.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, July 30 when the Pacific Symphony returns to Mission Viejo’s Oso Viejo Park for an evening of fun and music under the stars.

Symphony in the Cities is a free concert, featuring the talented Maestro St.Clair and the Pacific Symphony. The summertime celebration begins at 4 p.m. with the Prelude in the Park – featuring a special nod to Broadway. This family-friendly event will boast a cornucopia of activities including face painting, airbrush tattoo artists, Bingo, a cookie walk and scavenger hunt, caricature artists, harmonica making, musical playground and “Conducting Clinic” with Maestro St.Clair.

Before the symphony takes center stage at 7 p.m., guests will enjoy performances by OC Swing Machine, a talented ensemble performing swing jazz as well as Saddleback College musicians playing beloved Broadway show tunes.

Along with music and activities, patrons can enjoy tasty fare for purchase including hot dogs, hamburgers and Mediterranean dishes along with sweet treats from Nothing Bundt Cakes, Kona Ice and others. Food trucks, including The Burnt Truck, will also be on hand.

Free shuttle service will be available from the Civic Center from 4-10 p.m. Guests can reserve their spots on the lawn after 1 p.m.
