O.J. Simpson Prosecutor Coming to Mission Viejo

You know she prosecuted O.J. Simpson for murder. But did you know Marcia Clark is also a mystery writer?

Clark will be in Mission Viejo Oct. 14 for the 4th-annual Mission Viejo Readers' Festival. She'll discuss her two mystery novels published this year.

Clark started her writing career in 1997 when Viking Press published "Without a Doubt." In it the prosecutor discussed Lance Ito, Kato Kaelin, Johnnie Cochran, Mark Fuhrman and other figures in the famous murder trial.

Her first published mystery, "Guilty by Association," came out in March.

Her second mystery came out in May. It's called "Guilty by Degrees." In that story, she wanted to explore topics like white supremacy and how women are sometimes violent.

Both books share the same main character, Los Angeles District Attorney Rachel Knight. The publisher describes Knight as "a tenacious, wise-cracking, and fiercely intelligent prosecutor in the city's most elite division."

Clark was also a D.A. in Los Angeles working for the Special Trials Unit for 10 years.
