Pickleball Popularity In Mission Viejo Among Top In The Nation

Mission Viejo's Felipe Tennis & Recreation Center is now ranked number 57 out of more than 6,000 clubs nationwide, the city announced.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Mission Viejo's Felipe Tennis & Recreation Center earned national recognition after it was ranked the number 32 pickleball facility out of more than 6,000 clubs nationwide.

The achievement was announced as a part of Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating, which hosts more than 6,000 pickleball clubs across the country, the City of Mission Viejo said in a statement.

The City of Mission Viejo offers DUPR score entry for its advanced leagues and club tournaments, but members can also submit scores and games on their own to receive a ranking. To date, City staff members have posted more than 3,447 matches from leagues and tournaments into the system to assist with player ratings and rankings.

Pickleball, which is a combination of tennis, badminton, and ping pong, has been extremely popular in Mission Viejo and is dubbed the fastest-growing sport in America.
