An Irvine man jumped to his death from a bridge on Monday near State Road 241 in Mission Viejo, the Orange County Register reports.
The man, Gordon Scholle, 89, of Irvine was pronounced dead at the scene, and officials have not yet determined if he left a suicide note. The distance from the bridge to the ground is 65 feet.
A similar death occurred on Nov. 4 in Rancho Santa Margarita, when 33-year-old Reed Barnes jumped from the Santa Margarita Parkway bridge. The bridge is about three miles from where Scholle jumped, less than a week later.
