South OC Hospital Announces $712M Expansion Plan In Mission Viejo

Providence Mission Hospital announced a $712 million expansion plan in south Orange County.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Providence announced a $712 million investment in the south Orange County region to build two new multi-specialty medical centers, and a new patient care tower that will hold about 100 new beds at the region's Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo.

The expansion is focused on the creation of a new patient care tower that will provide state-of-the-art operating suites, cardiac catheterization labs and almost 100 private patient rooms.

In addition, the hospital will be constructing a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center on the Mission Viejo campus, which will streamline surgical care for patients, attract new physician partners and offer the latest minimally invasive care options.

Providence also has plans for the creation of two multi-specialty health centers in Rancho Mission Viejo and San Clemente.

According to a Providence statement, the centers will offer high acuity urgent care services staffed by emergency medicine physicians, a full-service imagining center with advanced diagnostics, and a multi-specialty clinic with primary care physicians, OB/GYNs and other specialty care providers.
