Mission Viejo Animal Shelter Urges Residents To Take Advantage Of Adoption Special

Residents can adopt any one of these longtime residents of the Mission Viejo Animal Shelter for just $20 until March 31.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Only one of Mission Viejo Animal Services Center's long-time dog residents was adopted during the shelter's St. Pawtrick's Day special — meaning ten loving dogs are still available, Animal Services Supervisor Brynn Lavison told Patch.

In an effort to get these dogs adopted, the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center will honor an adoption fee of $20 to approved applicants, and an hour-long private training session with a professional trainer, until March 31.

The hope, Lavison said, is that some — or all — of these longtime residents will find their way into loving homes.

"Our longest resident is FloJo," Lavison said. "She came to us as a stray and was very nervous and shy when she arrived. She has improved dramatically since then and even plays with some of the other dogs now."

"She comes across as kind of aloof, but once she knows you, she loves you," Lavison said.
