Time to Geek Out: Creator of 'Game of Thrones' Language to Visit Mission Viejo

Dothraki is an artificial language with fully developed vocabulary and grammar. David J. Peterson will teach it to you personally.

From the city of Mission Viejo:

David J. Peterson, creator of the language in HBO’s “Games of Thrones,” will delight fans of all ages when he visits Mission Viejo on Tuesday, Oct. 28.

The fun, interactive presentation is at 7 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center. Guests are encouraged to sport their favorite costume.

Developed for the award-winning TV series Game of Thrones, Dothraki is an artificial language with a fully developed system of vocabulary and grammar. Peterson will guide guests through a crash course in Dothraki and sign copies of his Dothraki primer “Living Language: Dothraki.”

Fans will have an opportunity to ask questions about Peterson’s experience working on the set of “Game of Thrones” and developing languages for this and other feature films and television. Peterson is also the president of the Language Creation Society and has worked on various blockbuster films including Thor.
