What's In Monrovia Restaurant's 'Shanghai Confusion Meat'?

An LA Weekly writer was disappointed with what "Confusion Meat" turned out to be at Monrovia's Shanghai Dumpling House.

It's not so confusing at all, it turns out. Canned ham is canned ham.

The LA Weekly ventured to the Shanghai Dumpling House on Foothill Boulevard in a quest to find out what was in the "Shanghai Confusion Meat" listed on the menu. He was not impressed.

"It was somewhat disappointing when our server referred to it as 'Chinese ham,' and even more so when it arrived at the table," LA Weekly writer Jim Thurman wrote. "Served chilled, it was essentially slices of canned ham, gelatin and all."
