Bomb Scare Briefly Shuts Down Gold Line

The sheriff's bomb squad was called in after an unattended bag was left at the Metro station in Monrovia

The Metro Gold Line was briefly shutdown in Monrovia after an unattended bag triggered a bomb scare, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The bag was left at the Monrovia Metro station, 1651 S. Primrose Ave., and authorities were notified at around 8:30 a.m., according to the LASD's Transit Policing Division.

"One of our deputies noticed the bag and requested assistance," Dep. Ramon Montenegro said.

As a precaution, the station was briefly shutdown. The bag was deemed safe at around 10 a.m. and services resumed.

The scare caused a 15-minute delay in train services.
