Cinco De Mayo Festival Still Needs Volunteers

The festival is expected to draw a huge crowd to Myrtle Avenue on Sunday, according to the city.

From the City Manager's weekly report:

This Sunday, the Monrovia Cinco de Mayo Association is putting on the second annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration in Old Town. The event, created by local citizens, volunteers and business owners, bring together local artists, musicians and icons of cultural heritage to celebrate Monrovia’s rich Hispanic heritage and cultural diversity. Last year the event brought in so many people, the venue was changed from Colorado Blvd to Myrtle Avenue. This year’s family-friendly event will feature seven different entertainers, including the Delgado Brothers, Ballet Folklorico and the headliner, Hector Dominguez Mariachi.

There is still an opportunity to volunteer for the event, so click here if you are interested. The Cinco de Mayo Association will also be collecting food for the Foothill Unity Center at the event. Click here to find out more.
