City Manager Search Heating Up
The applications for the city's top management post are all in, and now officials will start narrowing down the field.

The deadline to apply for the open city manager position in Monrovia passed last week and officials will soon begin sorting through applications before interviews start next month.
Applications were due Feb. 15, and qualified candidates will be presented to the council on March 6 by the executive search firm it hired, Mayor Mary Ann Lutz said.
Once qualified candidates are identified, the City Council will begin interviewing candidates on Mar. 16, Lutz said. She expected the council to consider about six or seven candidates.

The position became vacant when former city manager Scott Ochoa took the top management position in the city of Glendale in January. Since then the search for his replacement has been on.
Interim City Manager Mark Alvarado did not throw his hat into the ring for the city manager position, so he will return to his post as the city's finance director once a fulltime replacement is hired.
