LA County Dubs Today 'It Can Wait - No Texting While Driving Pledge Day'
The anti-texting campaign is championed locally by Supervisor Michael Antonovich.

Los Angeles County officials will make a last push today for Angelenos to take a pledge never to text and drive.
The county has proclaimed the day "It Can Wait - No Texting While Driving Pledge Day," championed locally by Supervisor Michael Antonovich. The day represents the culmination of a nationwide educational campaign sponsored by AT&T and highlighting the dangers of texting while driving.
More than 100,000 vehicle crashes annually are the result of texting behind the wheel. Teens in particular are a target of the campaign, as 75 percent of teens say texting while driving is "common" among their friends.
