MHS Renaissance Presents 'Sign on the Line 2012'
The new program recognizes students for getting accepted to universities for because of their academic achievements.

The Monrovia High School Renaissance program introduced a new recognition event on campus Friday at lunch.
In an effort to celebrate the academic achievement of members of the senior class Renaissance began a Friday afternoon tradition and recognized three seniors who have made their commitment to a higher academic institution.

Giselle Moreau, Jeanette Carron and Lisa Carlson were recognized today in a signing ceremony attended by faculty, staff and their families. Carlson will be attending BYU, Idaho in the fall. Carron will be attending the University of Oregon and Moreau will be matriculating to Stanford University.
Darvin Jackson, principal of Monrovia High School opened the ceremony with remarks intended to both congratulate the three young women and inspire the rest of the student body. Jackson made a commitment to the students to continue to celebrate not only the athletic achievements of MHS students but also the amazing academic achievements in the Wildcat family.

The “Sign on the Line” concept came from Renaissance Coordinator, Paul Dols. He stated that the impetus for the event comes from the underlying goal of the Renaissance program to celebrate all students for their work in the classroom and in the community as a whole. Planning is underway for the next event on Friday, March 9th with subsequent signing ceremonies to follow on each Friday.
