Monrovia Police Closes Its Front Lobby Amid COVID Surge

Monrovia residents will still be able to call the police department for non-emergency issues.

MONROVIA, CA — The Monrovia Police Department announced Monday it was closing its front lobby to the public amid a surge in coronavirus cases across Los Angeles County.

There's currently no timetable as to when the front lobby will reopen.

The department said residents can still use the red phone located at the front of the police station or call 626-256-8000 for any police services.

Residents dealing with emergencies can still call 911.

The new year brought 45,000 additional cases of COVID-19 to L.A. County, in part to the more transmissible omicron variant.
