When's the first day of school in Monrovia? Plus, other must-know dates for students, parents, and teachers.
MONROVIA, CA — The Monrovia School District will welcome students back to school on Aug. 14 in either a date to dread or one to look forward to.
Either way, it's a traditional date that's instrumental in a child's development. Teachers will report in starting on August 5 (the beginning of new teacher orientation week.)
There is no school for students on Sept. 2 for the Labor Day holiday. Other significant dates include:

- Parent-teacher conferences K-5 on Sept. 23-27
- Parent-teacher conferences grades 6-8 on Sept. 30 - Oct. 4
- Professional development (no students) on Nov. 1
- Veterans Day on Nov. 11
- Thanksgiving Break on Nov. 25-29
- Winter Break from Dec. 23-Jan. 3
