Comments of the Week: 'This Should Have Been Done Decades Ago!'

Check out the best, funniest, strangest and most informative things our readers have to say.

We take pride in our work here at Patch and always strive to bring our readers interesting news. However, we must admit, sometimes the most interesting part of a great Patch story is the comments from readers that it sparks.

Here are some of the best, funniest, strangest and most informative comments from Patch stories around the Crescenta Valley Patch sites this past week.

Reader Ol Cumudgeon gets our Comment of the Week award for the insightful comments about big rigs parking on bridges over the 210 Freeway:

CV Town Council Recommends Banning Big Rig Parking at All Times

Since the county refuses to widen and curb huge areas of La Crescenta, these vehicles are simply too large for our too narrow residential streets, Besides being unsightly, their very presence restricts or blocks movement on many our narrowest streets. The county has already seen how this behavior gets out of hand, and acted to close off parking access on Ocean View and Foothill. The rest od us deserve the same level of respect as these other areas. This should have been done decades ago!

Folks on Facebook also weighed in:

Jackie Marashlian-Davidian
I think I'd rather have them stop and park rather than fall asleep on the road and kill somebody.

Chuck Weiss
... but an eighteen wheeler stopped on the side of a freeway is also a major hazard to motorists. It would be best if they stopped at a provided rest stop.

Not everyone likes our editorial decisions. In fact, sometimes, they really, really don't like them.

What's the matter, Patch? You couldn't find a more gruesome story to lead with? Or couldn't you get the authorities to release the actual cause of this poor woman's death so you could relay it in all it's gory glory? Honestly, you're just not trying hard enough.............................................................p.s. I hate you

Ouch. This is clearly a disturbing story with horrible details. But, in the end, it's hard to ignore that it happened. In our defense, we do spend plenty, if not most, of our time focusing on positive community-based stories.
