CA Man Who Saved Bunny From Wildfire Speaks Out

A video of a man rescuing a bunny from a terrifying wildfire surfaced on the Internet this week.

VENTURA COUNTY, CA -- A man who was caught on camera rescuing a rabbit from a deadly Southern California wildfire told NBC News he loves animals. A video of Oscar Gonzales warmed the hearts of million of Americans as the public watched six wildfires scorch through the Golden State.

In an interview with NBC, Gonzales said he "didn't want the rabbit to go through the fire."

Gonzales who lives in San Fernando Valley said he was yelling at the rabbit.

"The rabbit first appeared apprehensive, but this didn’t deter Gonzales. Finally, the rabbit ran away from the flaming bushes into the arms of its rescuer," NBC reported.

Eventually, the rabbit is seen going into his arms.

As of Saturday morning, the six wildfires killed one person, burned 793 buildings and scorched 175,000 acres.
