Pick Veggies With the Family on the Farm

If you're looking for something to do with the family this weekend, why not head down to the farm? Underwood Family farms offers healthy, educational fun with pick-your-own produce.

As summer approaches, more fruit and vegetables are available for picking and in May, the farm has all sorts of things from avocados to turnips. Right now, there are still more veggies than fruits available, but strawberries, lemons, Mandarins and ruby grapefruits are ready.

See the crop calendar on the farm's website to find out what else is currently available.

There is also a market where you can buy already picked produce plus fresh eggs, honey and other items.

Also while you're at the farm, you can visit with furry and feathery creatures at the animal center, which houses chickens and ducks, rabbits, cows, pigs, horses, donkeys and even emus and alpacas.

The farm, which is located at 3370 Sunset Valley Road, is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and admission is $3 per person on week days and $6 per person on weekends. Underwood Family Farm is a working farm and the farmers warn you could get dusty and dirty during your visit.
