• Kern County prepares sandbag stations ahead of heavy rainfall (bakersfieldnow.com) — Mountain Mesa residents can pick up sand for flood protection at a county sandbag station located south of Dogwood Avenue and McCray Road, on the right side of the street. Kern County Public Works urges people to bring their own shovels and sandbags, available at local hardware stores, as heavy rainfall is expected soon across the region.
