3 People Injured In Menifee Intersection Crash

MENIFEE, CA — Three people were injured Tuesday, two seriously, in a two-vehicle crash at a Menifee intersection.
The crash happened about 3:10 p.m. at Murphy Ranch and Newport roads, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
According to the fire department, multiple engine crews were sent to the location and found one of the victims trapped in the wreckage, requiring firefighters to deploy industrial gear to free the patient, whose identity was not disclosed.

The extrication was completed within 20 minutes.
The person who was trapped in the vehicle, as well as another victim, suffered major injuries. A third victim suffered minor injuries.

All three were taken to a regional trauma center for treatment.
It was unclear what caused the collision, which the Menifee Police Department was investigating.
The intersection was partially shut down because of the crash.
