10-Acre Brush Fire Halted West Of Murrieta, Near Santa Rosa Plateau
The blaze was reported at approximately 4:30 p.m. and an air attack was initiated. Nearby communities include La Cresta, Tenaja and others.

MURRIETA, CA — A 10-acre vegetation blaze west of Murrieta, near the Santa Rosa Plateau, was quickly halted by fire crews Wednesday afternoon.
The blaze, dubbed the Avocado Fire, was reported at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the 20900 block of Avocado Mesa Road. The area is home to communities like La Cresta, Tenaja, De Luz and others.
According to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokesperson Rob Roseen, the brusher charred 10 acres before the forward rate of spread was stopped at approximately 5:45 p.m.

"The fire is currently holding at 10 acres," Roseen tweeted at the time.
Fire crews were expected to remain on scene through the evening.

The blaze was being fought by ground and air, Roseen confirmed.
The area where the brusher burned is known for its extremely steep terrain. Los Gatos Road, a paved street in the area, is one of the steepest in Riverside County.
No injuries were reported.
There is no word on what started the blaze.
