Car Catches Fire In Southwest Riverside Crash

The three-car crash happened around 2 a.m. Sunday.

MENIFEE, CA -- A three-car crash on a southwest Riverside County freeway sparked a fire early Sunday morning. The incident was reported around 2 a.m. on northbound Interstate 215 near Newport Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP incident log said one car veered off the freeway, landed in a ditch and caught on fire.

Three other cars stopped to help those in the crash, the CHP log said.
