EVWD Rate Hike - NO!

EVWD Costing Customers More Than Just A Monthly Usage Fee!

Many homeowners in The Colony are having to completely repipe their homes due to water pipe leaks. What has become increasingly more noticeable is the white scale residue that is left when even a small amount of water is left to evaporate. This white scale is extremely corrosive. It not only eats away at water pipes, creating leaks, but also dramatically reduces the lifespan of appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, garbage disposals, washing machines, etc. These costs are borne solely by the resident, with no assistance from EVWD.

Now EVWD wants a rate hike. I say NO!, at least not until EVWM management gets its act together and addresses issues that have long been neglected and accepts some responsibility. Customers, such as the senior citizens residing in The Colony, are now being asked to not only absorb the burden of a rate hike, but also pay to repair and/or replace the damage to their properties that this water district is causing.

I can only assume that if this issue is affecting homeowners in The Colony, it is also happening to other EVWD customers, yet it is one that I have yet to hear has received any public attention or is being addressed by EVWD management.

Public hearings are scheduled June 4th and June 26th. If you are an EVWD customer, I urge you to attend and speak out.....loudly!

Another question to ask is: Where is the City of Murrieta on this subject, and why aren't they protecting their citizens and investigating this issue?
