Fake Cop Arrested In Hemet: PD
The suspect was "wearing a uniform closely resembling a local law enforcement agency, " and a duty belt with what appeared to be a Glock.
HEMET, CA — A motorcyclist in a fake police uniform, riding through Hemet on a black and white bike outfitted with "Traffic Public Safety" decals, was arrested Monday on suspicion of impersonating a law enforcement officer and other charges, the Hemet Police Department announced.
The motorcyclist, whose identity was not released, was spotted committing multiple vehicle code violations while riding through the city with emergency lights on, police said.
Officers pulled over the rider, who was "wearing a uniform closely resembling a local law enforcement agency, along with a duty belt and what appeared to be a Glock-style pistol," the department reported.

A search of the rider and bike also turned up two taser electronic control devices, a police-type baton, and pepper spray, according to Hemet PD.

"Through investigative efforts, it was confirmed that the subject is a convicted felon and legally prohibited from possessing firearms or related weapons," the agency reported. "Additionally, the subject is not licensed to provide any security services through California's Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS)."

The suspect was arrested and booked into county jail on several felony charges, including impersonating a law enforcement officer, being a felon in possession of tear gas, possessing a leaded baton, and being a felon in possession of a stun gun, according to Hemet police.
