Friends, Family Remember Motorcyclists Killed In Sunday Crashes

A GoFundMe for the men's hospital and funeral expenses raised over $16,000 as of Tuesday evening.

HEMET, CA — A fundraiser for the families of two men killed in separate but nearly simultaneous motorcycle crashes had raised more than $16,000 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The men were identified as Daniel and Quintin Lilienthal, 29 and 33 years old, respectively. Several social media posts indicate the men were brothers.

The GoFundMe fundraiser, written by family friends Dorian Scotto and Brieana Beltran, said funds raised through the campaign will be used to cover the men's hospital and funeral expenses.

"To say they will be missed is an understatement. There aren't many people that come into our lives who are authentic and genuinely care about those around them," the campaign organizers wrote on GoFundMe. "We were all fortunate enough to have two have such people in our lives. Words cannot express the sadness we feel so I can only imagine what Mr. and Mrs. Lilienthal are feeling right now."

Daniel is described in the GoFundMe campaign as a a strong, confident, inspirational, motivating, enthusiastic and honest person" known for being a hard worker and natural leader.

Quintin — a "smart, stoic, kind, funny, loving, and a loyal friend" — is described as a man of few words who was wise beyond his years.

A celebration of life service has been planned for the men at Faith World Church in Hemet for Oct. 24.

Patch reported on Monday that the men died around 3:13 a.m. on Jamboree Road, just north of Barranca Parkway near Irvine.

Quintin Lilienthal, of Hemet, was pronounced dead at the scene. Daniel Lilienthal was taken to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries.

An investigation into the crashes is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 714-573-3218.
