Gunfire Report Leads To Domestic Violence Arrest In La Cresta: Cops
Deputies were called to the area early Monday morning and found a domestic violence victim, according to the sheriff's department.
MURRIETA, CA — Residents in La Cresta were awakened early Monday morning to the sounds of police sirens wailing through the community as sheriff's deputies responded to at least one call of shots heard in the area.
The alleged gunfire was reported around 2:44 a.m. in the 19000 block of Celia Vista in the unincorporated community west of Murrieta and Wildomar.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found "a female who had some injuries consistent with having been assaulted" but she had no gunshot wounds, according to the sheriff's department.

After investigation, "it was determined the female was a victim of a domestic violence incident," the agency reported.
A suspect was identified and arrested at a residence in the 41000 block of Calle Pino in La Cresta. The home is less than a half-mile from the alleged incident.

The suspect was booked into county jail on suspicion of domestic violence and discharge of a firearm.
