Hemet Driver Flees After Hitting 7-Year-Old In A Stroller, CHP Says

Minor injuries were reported after a pickup driver struck a stroller in Hemet on Thursday morning and left the scene.

The 39-year-old​ woman was pushing her son in a stroller at 7:45 a.m. at Yale Street and Salts Circle in Hemet when the stroller was hit by a light-colored pickup truck, California Highway Patrol officer Johnathan Torres told Patch.

HEMET, CA — A Hemet woman and her 7-year-old son were taken to a hospital for minor after a driver struck the pair and fled the scene on Thursday morning, authorities aid.

The 39-year-old woman was pushing her son in a stroller at 7:45 a.m. at Yale Street and Salts Circle in Hemet when the stroller was hit by a light-colored pickup truck, California Highway Patrol officer Johnathan Torres told Patch.

"The driver did flee the scene prior to providing any information," Torres said in an email.

The mother and son were taken to a local hospital shortly after.

The driver had not been located as of 11 a.m.
