I-215 Traffic Clogged Through Murrieta Amid Metal Pipe Cleanup

Friday afternoon, drivers of the I-215 Freeway in Murrieta saw slower-than-normal traffic onto the southbound I-15.

MURRIETA, CA — Southwest Riverside County freeway drivers heading southbound on I-215 ran into a bit of a road hazard Friday afternoon.

At approximately 2 p.m., California Highway Patrol responded to metal rods in lanes just north of the I-15 connector.

Witnesses reported seeing metal pipes falling off of the back of a gray pickup truck, scattering across all lanes, CHP reported.

A unit was en route to aid in the cleanup of the freeway, but alternate travel through that area was suggested during the incident.
