HEMET, CA — A man was shot Tuesday on a Hemet street, suffering a life-threatening wound, and the whereabouts of the shooter were not immediately clear.

The attack happened at about 12:20 a.m. in the 300 block of East Johnston Avenue, near South Buena Vista Street, according to the Hemet Police Department.

The agency said patrol officers were called to the location to investigate reports of shots fired and discovered the victim, whose identity was not disclosed, seriously wounded from a single gunshot.
