Menifee Man Killed In Beaumont Crash

BEAUMONT, CA — A 40-year-old man killed last week in a Beaumont crash has been identified as a Menifee resident.
Jason Harris died just after 5 p.m. Friday in the crash that was reported at the intersection of southbound state Route 79 and California Avenue.
Harris was riding a motorcycle south through the intersection as a northbound SUV attempted to make a left turn onto California Avenue, according to the CHP.

The two vehicles collided, and Harris was ejected from his bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The SUV driver, a 75-year-old San Jacinto woman, suffered major injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. An update on her condition was unavailable.

Neither alcohol nor drugs is suspected to be a factor in the collision, which remains under investigation by the CHP.
No arrests were announced.
The CHP temporarily closed the southbound lanes of SR-79 during the investigation.
