Murrieta Police Dog Aids in Seizure of 43 Lbs. of Heroin
Authorities say that MPD police dog Kazan located 43.56 pounds of heroin with an approximate street value of $632,727.
A Murrieta Police K9 is being applauded by his human colleagues in the department this week after he helped a make a huge drug bust on Tuesday.
The police dog, whose name is Kazan, located 43.56 pounds of heroin, with an approximate street value of $632,727, according to Murrieta authorities.
The MPD K9 assisted on a traffic stop just after 9:30 pm on Sept. 18 in Temecula. The seizure, depicted in above photos, led to several arrests, but in a statement, the police department said that other information can't be released at this time "due to the fact that the investigation is ongoing, and releasing additional information could compromise the case."

"These photos are informational only for the community," the statement continues. "Rest assured law enforcement is seizing this contraband and arresting those that transport it and sell it in our community."
