Murrieta Star Student Excels In Annual Spelling Bees, Volunteering

MURRIETA, CA — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Jesse Velasco who nominated daughter Mia of Murrieta as a Star Student.

Mia has excelled in her studies.

She is currently in the 5th grade and has been top of her class every year.

She’s won her school spelling bee two years in a row and has competed in the district spelling bee. Aside from her academics, Mia loves to help others.

She volunteers to assist her teachers and kindergarteners every year. She is smart, compassionate, and cares for the well-being of others.
