MURRIETA, CA — The Los Angeles Times announced winners and finalists for its 2023 Best of the Southland San Gabriel Valley/Inland Empire reader survey this week, and the city of Murrieta was named "best city."

"This accomplishment wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and hard work of individuals, businesses, and organizations that consistently contribute to making Murrieta the best place to live, work, and thrive," a released statement from the city read.

The Best of the Southland selections are readers' choice and did not involve the editorial or reporting staff of the L.A. Times, according to the newspaper.
