Naval Surface Warfare Center Hosts 'Industry Day' In Corona

Industry Day is a dynamic platform offering a chance for potential contracting opportunities with the Naval Center's Corona division.

CORONA, CA — U.S. Navy logistics managers hosted a forum Tuesday to provide regional business owners information regarding potential contracting opportunities at the Naval Surface Warfare Center's Corona Division.

The "Industry Day" was slated for 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Historic Civic Center Theater, 815 Sixth St., Corona.

"Industry Day is a dynamic platform for industry to learn and connect with our technical team, and for the Navy to network with small and large businesses," NSWC Corona Office of Small Business Programs Director Julie Santana Padilla said "Engaging with industry is key to unlocking opportunities for partnerships with traditional and non-traditional businesses, helping strengthen the defense industrial base to ensure our Navy remains resilient."

The 60-year-old warfare center's Corona Division is physically located in the 1900 block of Fourth Street in Norco, but the Industry Day was scheduled at the theater to make accessibility easier, officials said.

According to an NSWC statement, among the annual event's objectives is "to meet with small businesses and entrepreneurs and share upcoming business opportunities and forecasts, discuss the command's technical focus areas and communicate strategic investments."
